question what we going to use for light bulbs after 2012? The new bulbs wont keep my
pipes from freezing. If I get any chicks will need something for brooder, i always used bulbs.
At present dont have any chickens. Sure miss them.

We have been looking into getting those thing that attach to the bottom of your shoes I will have to order them.

Well I had hoped that I could have a mixed flock and it would work but it is now clear that it will not. My polish don't stand a chance I found my rooster in the corner shaking and covered in blood. I have cleaned him up and I had to chop is crest

allabout~~so sorry about your Polish roo... So many people try to mix bantams & large fowl, crested & noncrested, and they say they can do it successfully...and they might for a right good while, but eventually the bantam & crested ALWAYS lose. It's so sad. Theres just no way a bantam can win against a large fowl.....and the crested?? they can't see another bird sneak up on them, they can't see well enough to fight....

I have ONE Silkie with the large fowl....he's a mutt color cock that I love dearly; I, of course trimmed his crest off, and he's the only male in there & he's the king...lol

I know where Sylva is!! use to pass through there on my way back & forth to Franklin

Just to be clear, I assume everyone is talking about the Ga show in Feb.? Today is the first I'd heard of it, so no idea if we can make it or not, but I'm thinking sure!

I'm surprised so many are so close to us! This excites me, because I'll have plenty of ways to feed my obsession now! My husband will be thrilled I am sure!

Thanks

No I know you are not fussing at me I had known from the start that it may not work out. I do trim everyones crests and was actually going out to do that when I found him. As much as I want to keep them I really cant. Thankfully the 3 pullets are ok but I don't want to chance it.

I'm so sorry! I absolutely love polish! I don't know if this is a viable option, but maybe set them up another coop? Depending on where you live, I am planning on going to see a guy this weekend who is selling a bunch of used coops for 50.00.

There's a show in Morganton?!?!?! Will have to find some more info on that too! I may just come to look, as I don't really have anything special enough to show just yet. Maybe my ducks next year!
