NH - What do you all think? Will this work?? We aren't completely finished yet, as we are putting more HWC around the dog kennel to keep the biddies IN and predators out...but we are not planning on putting a cover on, so we might have to rethink our plan.

I think you might want to put a top on it, them biddes can jump/fly pertty good at a small size!

And if mama can go over the top she will.

x2 Happy Easter everyone (I had to steal BHep's little dancing chick...it was too cute not to repost!!)

Scott - Thank you for the heads up. Didn't know little biddies were capable of jumping/flying so high!! Hmm....now to decide what to do for a top so we can still "fit" inside...LOL Thank you again!!

Get some of the plastic bird netting, you can anchor it some how at the ground and all you'll need to do is fold it back to get inside. just a thought.

There will be an auction in Broadway next Sat. 4/14 @ 2pm....check in at 10am.
I got the info from CL. Looks like it will be run by the same person that does the Sanford Flock Swap, Auci Farms.

.

I got myself my own little Easter gift and I could not be happier:

I went to a local Flock Swap, but did not get there in time, but contacted the breeder, who is only 40 minute drive

. So I contacted her and she had just hatched some white silkies, so we went to her home, got to see her entire set up, which is AWESOME, and brought home two babies. Oh I so want more, but she will be having more colors hatching soon, so I will be back. I am going to cancel my silkies from the hatchery since I found a local breeder. I was worried about them with my EE's who are only a week and half old, but oh so much bigger so I put a divider in the brooder, but in the morning the little darlings wanted to be with the others. I was worried about pecking, but nothing. Actually one of the little silkies is picking at the tail feathers of one of my EE's. I am sooooo in

. And chicken math strikes again.

OOHH!! I have some of that laying around what a perfect use for it! Thank you so much for giving us an easy solution to fix a potential problem!! Now I can open the door and let momma get some "sun".
