Thought I should mention....
A homemade incubator is so super easy to make. I spent $3.00ish. I used a 10 gallon fishtank sitting in my attic, some hardware cloth sitting in the barn, an old drop light , tin foil and a fan. The fan I bought at walmart, that was the $3.69 or something. I also bought the Brinsea Oct 20 and I use both. The difference is ,I have to hand turn in the homemade, but I have great hatch rates in both. I actually made a third from a 20 gallon tank to hatch a bunch of duck eggs in. Waiting to start it up until I am sure I win the auction first. If not , I do know someone else I can get some from.
There are great ideas right here on BYC also.
And believe me, I am NOT handy. But I made these myself in 15 mins.
p.s . for Miss Linda..... Rocky Point is near Wilmington, several hours from Asheville....
Any one ever use a tank in tank with heated water in-between? Saw it on a different forum. Sounds easy with a fishtank heater ant two rubbermaids, a lil styro top.
She's filled out a bit nicer since this picture(which we just gave her a bath, so she's a bit damp still), but we got her just for her genes. She'll be laying age in the next couple of weeks
