Here is a picture of Tennesee today. In all her cute & ugly. Seriously she is ugly. Her skin feels weird and you can see through it. LOL This thing looks like a dinosaur. At least the showgirl has some curl. And I love the feathers sticking up on top of her head.

I love showgirls! I am planning a test hatch soon to test my bator, and planning to add some showgirls in there. I showed my hubby a pic of one, and he said "uhh, is it sick?"

Beth now that does look prehistoric... but cute too, I like anything different so I guess thats why I like these kind of birds....does she live in your house, she doesn't look very cold hardy..like maybe zone 9

hahahahaaaa

Yes she is in the house. Just hatched New Years Day. I have a bunch in the laundry room waiting to move out. I thought this weekend, since its been nice, now today it is in the high 20s and windy as heck, so they all remain in. Now, I heard that these Turkens (naked necks) are cold hardy. Someone on here has them in Maine and she told me she has no problems. The man I got the eggs from is about an hour from here and he has 4 NN in with his EE rooster. I still have hope its a hen, will keep her either way. She kinda grows on you. If she turns out to be a rooster I will let him hang out with my EEs.

With all the skin showing you wouldn't think it would be cold hardy, you might want to make it a little sweater....I'm serious Nettie makes clothes for her ducks and shoes too...

When I was growing up I'd come here for the summers, and there were a bunch on turkens running around wild and free. They didn't belong to anyone. They hatched out tons of babies and lived for years.

Wow, what ever happened to the Em? predators? I had a hen turkey come up our drive way once and did a little dance for my drake Muscovy, it was so funny, must not have been any male turkeys in our neck of the woods.
