I could not have naked neck chickens, I would feel bad for them lol. I talked to the man we got them from today, first off he told me when we got them that the hen was a little over a year old and that the rooster was a year and a half old. Today I found out the hen is a pullet at 9 - 9 1/2 months old and the rooster was a little over 2 years old! He says he never had a problem with her and once she tried to to broody. Could it be stress?

I know the rooster has gone Crazy

could be stress can make a person do strange things so would probably affect a chicken also especially since they are separated and never have been. Hopefully she get calmer as the days go on.. do you have any Rescue Remedy? it would help to give her a few drops in her water for a couple of days to help calm her down. Relax is the word.. the necks wouldn't bother me as much as the belly without any feathers.. poor baby

SHHHhhhh don't tell my daughter, she will have barbie clothes on the poor thing before you could blink. I don't plan to put those babies out till it stays in the 40-50s, so hopefully she will get more feathers or something. I wasn't too worried about the cold I am worried about sunburn.

i just couldn't wait til spring...i tried! honest i did...
then i saw these on the auction and figured, "hey, i can drive it, no problem"

so my chicken adventure has begun a little bit earlier than i had planned.

So folks!!!!

A good morning and congratulations all!!! So here is the finally tally............. Started with 12 eggs, at lockdown took out 3 non-fertile. 1 died at some point, one more ended up as nothing, leaving us with a sweet total of 4 definite Black and 2 "splash" of some colour. Will post pics so anyone can help determine their colour!!!!

But they are lively, run around and jump! It is so funny...........
