Good to see more people from this neck of the woods. I have too many chicks in the house.

31 chicks and 5 duckling. I know.....I'm nuts but I can't put them out in this cold. I put out 19 EE and 7 Austrolorps just before Thanksgiving. That were fully feathered , almost 2 months old. I lost 4 EE pullets & 1 Austrolorp pullet even with a heatlamp (250w). They were smothered, I think. I have never felt so guilty. Never again. I have a real big house with plenty of corners to stick cages and I will leave them in till spring if necessary. Its a lot to clean up after but I have 3 kids that are hugh helpers, they love, love these birds. Some birds are in my laundry room, some in a formal living room, that we never use. When people come over they don't even know I have them in here unless I tell them. Then they don't believe me until I show them.

Did I mention the eggs in the incubators.....10 in 1 bator and 7 in another. *sigh* I am ready for Spring!!

Ok...out to the barn, my daughter just came in to tell me the water in running again. Thankfully...I hate carring out water.
