Thanks for the welcome! Everyone so far has been very helpful. I grew up with dogs, cats, and horses but the chickens are a new thing for me and are turning into an obsession. My hubby is starting to get worried. I'm going to go pick up some Lemon Cuckoo Orps, Lavendar Orps, and Ameracaunas tomorrow to add to the 5 BLRW and 2 EE I got last weekend. I also have a broody Cornish that is sitting on 6 assorted eggs that should hatch next Friday. Aside from that I have an Old English Game roo, Cluck Norris, a Golden Comet, Rose, and another Cornish that doesn't leave that broody one's side. I lost 3 of my grown girls this past week to a mystery predator....2 game hens and Blanche, a Golden Comet that I miss dearly. We are having to re-do our coop and build a covered run which kinda bites since our current way of things has really worked out well until now. It's just money though right?!?

I'm sorry for your loss.  I've lost 3 chickens this past week myself to a mystery predator...we are having to totally re-vamp our chicken house situation. One of them was my favorite too, I hate it.  Hope your son took the news alright. :/

Thanks, I'm sorry to hear about your loss too! We are new to chickens as well and this is definitely a learning experience. My son took it like a trooper and no tears were shed! Thank goodness!

Good Morning everyone! Hope you all have a great day.

I have a favor to ask of you all if you don't mind.……. My mother is a breast cancer survivor of 8 years. But recently the doctors found lump in her left arm, the same side the cancer was on. The did a biopsy but it was inconclusive. So know she is having surgey next week to remove the lumps and detemine once and for all whether or not its cancer.

Can I please ask you all to pray for her? THANK YOU
