My first and most likely only run of eggs is finally cooking away. I love the sound of my Suro. I have it in my bedroom and that low hum is very soothing to me.

I got these eggs last weekend at Chickenstock from Amy(westknoll). I just flat out forgot about them till I noticed the carton under papers on my desk. They were 1-3 days old when I got them, so an extra week shouldn't make a difference. There are 12 nicely colored marans eggs and 6 wyandotte eggs. Both Daisys(boff Orps) are broody and the long broody box/house is empty, so I will not have to raise these either.

Good Morning everyone! Hope you all have a great day.
I have a favor to ask of you all if you don't mind.……. My mother is a breast cancer survivor of 8 years. But recently the doctors found lump in her left arm, the same side the cancer was on. The did a biopsy but it was inconclusive. So know she is having surgey next week to remove the lumps and detemine once and for all whether or not its cancer.
Can I please ask you all to pray for her? THANK YOU
I am also a breast cancer survivor and will be honored to pray for your mom. Praying all will come out great.

Well I learned something today. I haven't been into Monroe on a Saturday in ohh.. forever? So I found out that there is a flock swap at my local TSC every first Saturday of the month. At least for summer anyway. They had all kinds of cute stuff, including some poodles and a HUGE rabbit lol I will definitely keep that in mind as my babies grow and I find out if I have too many roos/drakes.

I have a question for those who own cochin's. We ordered a male and female partridge from a hatchery. Well one of the extra 4 they sent was another male partridge cochin, they put it on the packing slip. So when I look at the three I have one light brown one and two darker brown ones. In sexing them do the males tend to be darker
not necessarily...can u post photos of their combs...cochins are a little easier to sex than some single comb birds

Hopefully looking for a goat or small pony in the near future. Mother is finally going to have a barn built and bring my Arnold home (my 17 year old Thoroughbred) and he will need a companion because otherwise he will end up jumping the fence and hangin out with my neighbors horses lol. So if anyone within an hour or two breeds large goats or ponies, let me know if you have anything relatively cheap available. It might be winter or even next summer before we are ready though so I am hesitant to post anything in BST. Craigslist has a lot listed but you just never know the background on some of those poor babies and I would hate to bring something home.
