LOL, sounds kinda funny askin this...but....Is there anyway to know what color eggs my EE's will lay? Can you go buy the color of thier legs, puffy checks or no puffy checks or tail feathers or no tail feather? Or do I just have to wait till they start laying

I'm having a dreadful chicken spring.

Hawk problems. A couple deaths of adults for no known reason. Broody hens abandoning their babies. Cranky incubator with poor hatch rate.

I want a do-over.

I scooped up the last two chicks with a broody this morning, (out of twelve originally!) and popped them in the brooder-house with the others. Broody hens are just not doing their job this year, which is disappointing. I've always used them reliably before. Somehow, I've been chicken -jinxed.

EEs theres no way to tell unless you know the parentage... You just have to wait till they lay :)
I have a solid white EE with muffs/beard, dark legs, everything and yet she lays tan/brown eggs.

I have read and seen that the ones that come off with a straight comb don't tend to lay a colored egg, but there are some with pea combs that lay light brown eggs (what the hatcheries call pink)

i have bantams in with LF they do pretty good. Some LF will pick on bantams though so I had a find a new home for a few bullies. Also there is a BYCer here in Burnsville that has Olive Eggers you may want to PM her she is vickifiveoh and KristanB has the EE's you may PM her she has other breeds she maybe interested in letting go of not sure but wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks!!!
