Thanks EVERYONE! I'm just kinda shocked and freaking out.......I know I've got a while to prepare but it just seems to be a butt-load at one time! And yes this is the first one and no, it wasn't planned but I guess life throws curves in there just for good measure. I think I'll be a swell dad but the thought of it RIGHT NOW just seems OUT THERE!!!!

I found another tiny little snake, and it is up for grabs if anyone wants him! So I have him in a cake container, and still one loose in the shed... Chris came in and told me that he seen it behind a feed barrel. Well I found a mouse in the barrel, "These two must get together!!!

What good is a snake in the feed shed if the mouse is still eating the grains?

Good luck Tomorrow BTW!

I think telling mom is gonna be the hardest part.... and I would love to keep all my chickens but I think we have more than I can deal with on my own amongst other thing that need to be taken care of. And my house is no where near any sort of child-proof.....It's not even adult-proof. I guess I'm just scared =(
take her to her favortie dinner place, after dinner, you tell her

One of my April 12th pullets laid her first egg yesterday. Today I got another egg. I don't know if it is the same girl or one of the others. Evidently they don't hang around advertising what they have done yet. The eggs are small for now and alot darker then I have ever gotten from Gold Comets. These girls and the late May hatchlings are hopefully going to be my winter layers.

Good morning everyone!! I am sitting here drinking some pomegranate green tea with the windows open (freezing my feet off by the way) and enjoying the fall-ish feeling weather!! Busy day for me...lots to do around the house as our windows are getting measured tomorrow before they are replaced!! Should be nice to actually be able to have a warm/cool house!! No chicken news to share...so I bid you all a fond farewell for now!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Mary - I KNOW I NEED one or two of those baby goats for Christmas...yes I do!! LOL

I guess when they say everything hits at once they really do mean it! I'm gonna have to take a hiatus from my chicken farming due to a little bun in the oven

......I'm kind of in shock and not sure how to feel about it at the moment. But I guess I have to get everything around the house buttoned up before it happens, and I doubt the chickens will help me get "house chores" done. So in the next few days I will be putting up a list of what I have and what needs to go

Congrats Luke! Hang in there... you will be a fabulous parent. Good Luck breaking the news to your Mom.... I bet she will be happy, though.
