I am home, finally! And mostly unloaded. The Boys were happy to see me, since hubby left for DC this morning. Weather is churning up, too.

I ended up not getting to meet wildriverswolf, because I'm an idiot.

I didn't charge my cell phone and it went deader than dead. And of course all her contact info was in there. By the time it got enough charge on it to text or call, I was already past her place. Bummer. I texted her when I got gas and let her know.

The festival was great, as always. Ran into some old friends, and made some new ones. Did too much walking with crutches and missed Jake a lot. He missed me, too!

Waiting to see what th eweather brings tonight and tomorrow.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I am extremely sore this morning, from walking on hills with those %*)()_(*&%$%$ crutches. I appreciate Jake so much more today!

Gotta give the new NZ doe her nest box this morning. Her first litter is due during this storm. She's a bit jumpy anyway. I'll bet she lays them on the wire.

Hubby gets back from DC today. Maybe we can move her cage into the other lean-to for a bit. It's more protected...and darker. Might help.

It does not look that bad out there this morning. I really thought that we would have gotten more of Sandy, but I guess a few miles to the east may be a different story. I said something to the hubby about it last night, and he said that wist the big gusts of wind we did get that he was happy that it did not blow in any further west. It looks like there was a wall on I-95 that just would not let any more passed. We did get quite a bit of wind, but much better than a mud pit in the chicken runs!!!

Sadly I lost two of my Swedish breeding group to a Possum. The hole in the breeding run has been fixed but I now have my rooster and a crested hen. I need to sell these two Swedish flower hens. The Female is Crested and very very pretty. The Cockerel is dark brown does not have a crest and is super sweet to his girls, he's a big boy. He has a great personality. The hen just started laying 2 weeks ago and is producing about 4 beautiful eggs a week. If your interested I want 40.00 and they need to be picked up at my location in Chatham county not far from Chapel Hill. I'm selling because I have to make room for my Birchen marans young breeding group.
