Okay, I saw the incubator. Good shape, new thermostat and a backup one, too. New seal. Hasn't been hatched in. Six egg trays for chickens, and when I mentioned turkeys he grabbed two for turkey eggs, too. Two wicks for the water tub and liners for the hatching tray...type he uses in his hatcher. Full lesson on how to adjust it and what to watch for. (Very full...the guy could talk the ear off a deaf man!) Had it on and running for me so I could see that it works properly.

Yeah, I brought it home.

Now I have to clean up the wool room sooner than planned, so I can put it in there and try it out! Like, when I get home tomorrow!

Its been a good chicken enabler day! I lucked out and bid over the phone on a GQF Incubator and Hatcher and got both for a good deal. Not sure I'll be using the hatcher but I can't wait to get that sucker home tomorrow and test it out.

Cupid has a funny way to play in the water… he walked in up to his belly, thought okay not to bad and gave him a little tug to turn him back to land. At this point laughs and say 3…2…1. And down goes cupid onto his side and dunks us both BRRRR then he spent a lot of the ride flicking his THICK wet tail… at my friends(still giggling) :yess: payback!
Can't wait to ride again!

Gold Sebrights; the silve and buff are gone, I should have taken pics of them too.

I am glad to see that everyone is having such fun.
I have been able to get a few pics of the new bitties for this coming year. I waited so late to get them, but on the bright side I was able to help a few others get some new little fuzzy cotton butts too. I am down to the 31 that I will grow out to see how they work out.




Ameraucanas, 2 roos for breeding have blue and purple on the heads, and a tiny G Sebright getting cozy between the fluffballs.


I think I see one of the little Partridge Silkies in the there???


Cuckoo Maran, Barred R, and White Plymouth Rocks.


This is where the Silkies have been hanging out, with a new addition Emmadine. She is being trained to do bug patrol in the green house. From what I can tell... she has been great entertainment for the hubby and older son.

Frost free Silkies! They are in the part of the green house not planted in at the moment. The huby wants to rewire the Tracktor that they have for the yard while it is so cold out.

Some of his experiments are pretty cool, but I was told by another BYC'ers hubby that he tried to blow up the truck

with one of them the other day. I think he is going a different way with that experiment.

Good Morning, Everyone!

You guys enjoy this last warm day, while I go to work. Yes, Hubby will be out in the kayak fishing, while I am at work. Yes, public schools are closed on Veterans day, but we are not. Yes, I am disgruntled.

But you go on and have a greaaaaaat day!


But I can still check my chickies and pet my incubator before I go!

Oh yeah, the baby bunnies have their eyes open now. And they are huge!

AW!! I love bunnies!! I had an indoor rabbit once and he was SPOILED! We took him out on a leash to eat on clover, his favorite treat was vanilla wafers, he wouldn't go near his litter box if the cat had so much as sniffed it and he would beg during dinner just like the cat. One would be at the head of the table and one at the foot.

Had him for seven years.

DoubleA & Hollow - Congrats on your new incubators...I may have to buy some eggs and send them to you to HELP test out your new bators....you know, to help make sure they work and all...

JK. I will faithfully keep Beth's bator working!!

So my birthday is coming up and I am sensing a trend for MY birthdays...last year for my birthday we bought a new refrigerator, the year before that, a washer & dryer...so this year?? Hubby wants me to buy a freezer chest so we have a place to keep our roosters (you know since I have a 99% hatch rate of hatching males!! LOL).

I don't know what is in store for me next year unless he's going to try and tell me that the garage that HE wants built is MY present as well. LOL. I was hoping to have some new land as a birthday present, but sadly the neighbor was out of town and was not home for us to talk to!!

I am not losing hope, I am going to continue to pray and focus on chickens until we know one way or another!!

Off to the grocery store today to buy a massive amount of baking supplies so I can start my holiday baking (hey, now I have freezer space to store all the dough/cookies/candies/treats in!!) early next week!!

When I got home from work (Work from 13 hour night shifts) and let the chickies out of their coop into their run I was able to watch two that I suspect to be roos facing off. That is some great entertainment there! The last time we had chickens my dad said watching the chickens interact together was better than watching TV. I have to agree. If I wasn't so tired I'd go out with a chair and watch them some more but alas my bed is calling. Maybe if I head off now I'll get up before they go to bed this evening. If not, I don't go back into work until the weekend so I'll have plenty of time to do some chicken watching.
