I need some help… I need a gun for protecting my flock/land. Something that is super easy to handle, I'm inexperienced. And cheap. Can ya'll give me some ideas, opinions?!

I just bought a new pellet gun.....It's something like 1200 fps and is very easy to use. I bought it just to shoot around and get squirrels for stew.

a ruger 10/22 rifle or and remington 870 12 or 20 ga shot gun.
the 22 would be easier to handle then the shot gun for a beginner 22 ammo is cheap and readily available also a good gun to have in a shtf scenerio.

Hollow~ I'm leaning more towards a rifle or shotgun, since, from what I've been able to find, they are cheaper. But if he has some info on pistols I'd love to hear it.
I must admit I'm slightly afraid to handle guns.
Luke~ I got me a real nice pellet gun, it works great for detering coons and possums. but after seeing the fox, if I have to shoot I want to kill and not have it suffer.

I LOVE my pellet gun, especially with those fancy new aluminum hollow tips!!!!

there is a section in the NC state constitution that prohibits secession. =(

I don't understand it totally but the are quoting the Founding Fathers for the right to secede.
