yes Tick, its called chicken math and from your other posts I'd say you're a little slow on it for as many years you have had birds and how much the number of them has grown. ( wish I could be slow at chicken math also) and so does dear DH! I know I started with under 20 probably 10 to 15 of silkies, black sex links, a pair of light brahmas, pair of silver laced polish, and production reds and one sumatra roo that impersonated a bsl hen as a chick. Now I have silkies and projects, polish and projects, sumatras, lakenvelders and projects, 2 mutt pens that have a few odds and ends pure breads or true mutts, turkeys, pheasants.

So I kinda envy you with slow chicken math

I keep hearing/reading about people going to auctions, and I want to know some details, where and when are some of these held? Is there anything near Asheville that does this?

Very sorry to hear about your roo. Wow! It is beautiful. The wind coming off of the ocean is a cold cold also. Hard to get warm at times. Have a great week end.

What kind of brahamas do you have-I have the buff and light although I would love to have the dark.

ramirezframing.. Yes, it has taken awhile to get the math. I guess I was enjoying what I had. I had alot to learn with chickens, just like I did when the Missus brought home Shorty, the horse. So knowing alot more and after this last batch of summer/winter babies, I think I am getting it. Like kittens, biddies are so much fun and work, but like kittens they grow up. We have been lucky that almost all our chickens and roos are very people chickens which only adds to the enjoyment...Plus reading all the fun you all have with your bators, well, it sounds awesome... I hope I can keep the math slow. Hope, Hope, Hope....

chickenbusiness... I think there are more of us than you think... mmm, maybe not, we kind of forget stuff, yas know, like we are old... snickers...

Wonderful day for chores and chicken TV. Let 3 flocks out together today. It was fun to see all the interaction, esp with the new boys with their girls and the trying to add to their own flock with others girls. Sweet Britches (yes the missus named them while they were biddies, so some boys have really pretty names) finally came into his own today with his girls threaten by one of the older Boys. First time he has shown, he is the leader of his flock. No real fighting, just alot of fronting off and pushing others off his girlsl...

Ok Chickenbusiness. if you knew how many times I had to go back and correct things, you would know I am older. Heck, I just found the spell check here 2 days ago. D'OH!!!!!
