That was my concern...running the cord across the ground. We have a dog that eats everything!! Perhaps I can rig a drop cord and come in from the top of the coop ....

Yeah, Reilly eats hoses, so I assume he'd eat any cord going across the ground. And I have a ten week old pup, too. That was my concern...running the cord across the ground. We have a dog that eats everything!! Perhaps I can rig a drop cord and come in from the top of the coop ....![]()
Ok Hollow, I had to look that up and the muck tub cart is so sweet!!! I really need one to use not just for the chickens but the garden as well! My birthday is coming up.........Yeah, Reilly eats hoses, so I assume he'd eat any cord going across the ground. And I have a ten week old pup, too.
If I had a hot water heater at the barn so I could pull water there, it would be easier. But when it's below freezing the house has the only water. Oh, well. The outbuildings aren't far from the house, and I don't mind hauling water. This year. Other years, before I had my muck tub cart, I minded dreadfully! Now it's pretty simple. And needed exercise for me!
But she is so cute and innocent! Same with Nikeeta, she finds 'stuff'! Things that we forgot we owned show up in the yard, and lord forbid that we leave the garage open, she drags everything out. Some stuff she chews up, some she just places all over the yard. Soon as this sun hits that side of the yard, and I am not risking my life and limb walking out there, I will look at dropping a cord....LadyBug eats EVERYTHING......She ate the ends off my heat lamps, the extension cord..water containers and on and on... So IF I need extension cords for anything I will be running them over top of the coops.![]()
The awesomeness of the cart is that you push down to rock it onto the wheels rather than pick up as with a wheel barrow. So even a gimp like me can do it. And you can move a metal trash can on it, too. I've loaded cinder block on it and moved it with no trouble. I love that cart! Best impulse purchase I ever made. Highly recommend to everyone!Yeah, Reilly eats hoses, so I assume he'd eat any cord going across the ground. And I have a ten week old pup, too.

glad I aint the only one that stops to just look and listen. besides my kids, who actually stop to smell the flowersGood icy morning peeps.
Still being new to all this weather and stuff, (going on 6 or 7 years in NC) I always seem to see things different. Yes, it is a pain carting out water to my animals. Yes, it is a pain trying not to slip and break something. BUT!!! I am so amazed as how beautiful it all looks. last night doing the 12 to 1 am outside check, I had to stop and look at how the ice had made such awesome designs. How the dripage gleamed in the flashlight glow and the sounds of ice cracking under foot. I must have spent a hour just walking around going, wow, ooh, neat and studying the formations. This morning again, i walked the property, the near forest just amazed at how Mother Nature could paint such an awesome design. Hell, I still spend hours if possible watching the late May fireflies... It is so different here than in Cali.....
Everyone stay warm, off the roads if you can and take a second and just look at the pretty sights you have...

Speaking of puppydog chewing, Levi knocked the gate down the other day, and hubby found him out loose in the house. He said he didn't find any damage. I just did. He ate my Inkle Loom. I think maybe hubby can repair it. I hope.
