No THANK YOU...NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!! She is NOT allowed to get a bunny until she is old enough to FULLY take care of it (I'm hoping if I tell myself that enough, it will actually stick). LOL, I have enough mouths to feed and worry about!!

Hmm...maybe I'll check back in with you NEXT spring...you know when she's almost 4!!

My 12 year old finally got one for her birthday. I wanted to make sure she was big enough to handle the responsibility of it. She has done well so far. Of course I still have to remind her to keep a check on the hay and water but it will catch on eventually, lol

When my kids wanted pets....DD a bunny and DS piranha...we were homeschooling and living in Central America. I made each of them write a paper on the care, health problems, etc., of their particular animal request. They knew exactly what they were getting into when they got them!

Yeah. Mean mom. That's me!

Got my chicks over the weekend. They are all doing well. Haven't named them all yet. Here are some pics.

the yellow one on the left is named Goldie Locks

Named this one marble

This is my 2 yr old granddaughter being ever so gentle:)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea...now I must decide if I want to wait until she's old enough to write the papers/do the research. Hmm...tough decision. LOL. I'm thinking the research would be important for both of us - I've never owned a bunny before so I'd have NO idea how to help. As for being "mean"...I don't think so! Kids NEED to learn responsibility, so if teaching them to become knowledgable so they can be responsible is mean, then I believe we as a country NEED a lot more MEAN & NASTY parents!!

Side note: 1) I did NOT do diapers today, so the rain is NOT my fault. 2) The ducks are enjoying "swimming" and "bathing" in the rain filled pond that is theirs...I hope they don't get too attached to it - we haven't figured out where the leak is, so it will be dry tomorrow!! OOPS!! LOL
