CSB - Thank you for the suggestions, but we have already promised family members that we would NOT do an "E" name!!  LOL, Apparently they were already tongue tied with the 2!!  We are leaning towards Jessalyn - after my very best friend (not to mention it's a unique name), but right now, nothing is sticking.  I think I am still in shock.  My dad called me to comfort me...he tells me my grandfather's first patient had 12 girls and when they finally gave up on having a boy, she "accidentally" got pregnant and had a boy.  LOL.  Not sure how that is comforting as I certainly do NOT want 12 girls - imagine the hormones...WORSE, the weddings!!  :th   I think I'd start my own convent or something (haha probably a MENTAL institution)!!  LOL

RF - I think I have given up hopes for a boy...especially since we've "broken the mold" - everyone in our immediate families have had 3 children: 2 girls and a boy - although they all stopped at 3 and we plan for more, so my theory is that it's still possible to follow up these 3 girls with 3 boys...but I am NOT going to set myself up for disappointment.  LOL  Besides, girls are WAY more fun to dress!!  ;)

No chicken news to share aside from the loss of our one BR last night.  Excited to see these bullies get put in their place when they are re-homed!!  I do hope to see some video or photos of the boys getting picked on at least once and the girls getting told who's boss!!  LOL - at least having one of the alphas hold onto "tail feathers" and ripped a few dozen out would be "fair".  LOL.  DH was teasing that he heard from a co-worker that guinea and rice is a Puerto Rican delicacy that he is going to have to miss out on now that we aren't "doing away with them".  LOL (He's relieved, don't let him fool you!!)  Now to start focusing on our meet birds order and figuring out the concept of fermented feed ratios!!  LOL

Just because you are an English nut! ROFLMAO. Are you going to meet some birds or eat meat birds?

Sorry I'm rolling over here that I finally got you.

One of my girls is gifted. I wasn't expecting any eggs in the chicken coop until Easter but what do you think I found this am when I went to feed them? A freshly laid egg right under the light to keep it warm! A bit small but I know first eggs tend to be.

My son says that it is the color "Aquamarine". I got these chickens from ncgrammie back on Halloween when they were just a couple days old but I suspect that the culprit to laying this egg had to be "Big Momma" since she and "Big Daddy" grew about four times faster than the others. I'll have to try to go out earlier in the am to see if I can catch the lay in process to be certain. 1 hen laying, 8 to go. :D

Have been off the radar for a week or so, got everything moved into the new (old) house during the snowstorm on Saturday. Spent the week before working, cleaning, packing and doing laundry. Worked last night, 12 hours kicked my tail.
I can't wait for my baby chicks fron Tarheel Birdy...my oldest son son starts the coop next week!

We are starting bees this year. We just took a class, and have joined our local and state.

Make lots of honey little bees. We are even adding more garden for them.
I threw together a Top Bar Hive, a friends dad does bees and he is bringing them over on monday!!!! I wasn't quite ready but I'm going to build another hive a little nicer this weekend. (if it doesn't rain). We also made a few new gardens this year and am excited about the outcome!

It's 9:00 am and I'm being semi-productive this morning! All the critters fed and watered of course....at dawn rather than before, lazy me...., created three more versions of the exam I built yesterday, including keys, and have two of three pans of sourdough pumpkin cranberry muffins in the oven. My total favorite! Jake goes in for his next shot today, so I thought I'd take muffins to the clinic. Already got all the dishes washed up, spent a few minutes on puppy manners, and am filling the time between now and when I have to go to work with.....something. Laundry? Ugh. Sweeping. Double ugh. Hmmmm.....chicken TV? Ding, ding, ding!!!!! We have a winner!

I get to go in at 6:00 pm for a 6:15 appointment and a 7:00 prelim exam. Yay. But I get a muffin first!
