I won't lower my price because some know-it-all redneck wants my birds for dirt-cheap.  I will give discounts for larger numbers of chicks, and will give repeat buyers a discount. I want to sell to people who value my birds like I do.

I would not lower the price either. People who recognize quality are willing to pay for quality. I only want to buy and sell with people who are quality minded and want to deal in healthy birds.

GOOD LORD. I had a guy email me asking if I had any SLW roos for sale. I told him I had a couple of 6-week-old non-hatchery cockerels that I would sell him for $5 each. He emailed me back and told me to go F*&# myself, (I'm not kidding), and said "for a 6 wk old roo your out of your mind"

What a rude, crass individual. Wouldn't want him to have any of my birds, that's for sure, at any price, and I told him so. (I also made a crack about his spelling and grammar, just 'cause I could).

I've gotta say, I did this:

when I saw how much you were asking for your birds. BUT, only because we paid $7.50/bird for a straight run of mixed bantams at 8 weeks old, and $12-$14/bird for four older birds that were 23 weeks old, and we thought we were getting a deal! I do really like the breeder I bought them all from, as she's been extremely helpful in many areas, so I didn't mind then, and still don't now, paying that much per bird.

People are very rude. They act like you set out to insult them personally..... If someone doesn't like the price why can't they say thank you for your time and move on.

Yeah I have had a person or two complain about prices before. Never had anyone be that rude and direct. if he didn't think that was a good price then he needs to raise them himself.

The last NC show of the spring season is this Saturday in Greensboro.

For more info they have a website: http://karlu.hypermart.net/
"Current Show Catalog" tab on the Left has the show info.

I do not go to this show, but it is run by great people and normally has great food with a good area to sit and talk.

Ok, i have a question for those that have let a broody hen hatch. I have two hens sitting on eggs right now. We came home today and found an empty egg but no chick. Would they have killed and eaten it? I am getting ready to move one of them back out to the coop leaving only one to sit on about 8 eggs. I had one hatch Saturday and still waiting on the others to hatch. Not sure if they all started to be sat on at the same time as the hens would steal any eggs that were close to them when they were in the coop. Had to move them into the house because the other chickens were raiding the nest and eating eggs. Thanks in advance for any help
