I'm planning on coming to WCA tomorrow. Anyone else? I know Mary and Bennie will be there. I'm bringing my teenage Dark Brahmas. After much consideration, I decided not to move in that direction. I have Orpingtons laying light brown eggs, RIRs laying eggs a bit darker, Wellies laying terracotta eggs, and will have Marans for the darkest. Then Amers for blue, and EEs and OEs for a rainbow. Add the brown leghorns for white, and I don't need more.

And as I typed that, I remembered I was supposed to get a count of leghorns for someone and see if I had some pullets to spare! I totally forgot! I'll count them tonight and look that up to see who wanted that info! My apologies for being forgetful and stupid!

Hello, I hope everyone had a wonderful day I wanted to show our first coop, husband built it(its almost finished).

We have 5 (6week old chicks) does anyone recommend anything that we could add?

Oh, we live in Cary so we can't free range but the chicken run is 17 feet. I figure we could always add to it if needed.

Thank you!! It's actually the first time he's built anything from scratch. It's mainly made from pallets, a few pieces of plywood and of course the chicken wire. I believe in all we only spent $75

No, I'm not actually sure of what it's called but similar to chicken wire but with smaller holes. I've got 8 locks on this thing(ya scared of ppl & predators) I'm living in Downtown Cary so I'm trying to make it as nice as possible since they can't free range. They are moving in this coming week.

Productive morning so far! A couple batches of cookies made, car cleaned out, all the livestock chores done, and the birds going to the auction caught up. It'll be a fun day!
