I have a friend looking for a pair/ or hen of splash cochin bantams! if anyone has or knows anyone please let me know!

No baby yet BTW! But the miserable GF is sure letting me know she wants him out! lol

I remember going through that. My daughter was two days late and I was inconsolable, then my water broke. Be understanding of her, she wants to hold her baby in her arms and not in her enormous uterus, she is also experiencing a storm of hormones which may make her say things that she doesn't necessarily mean.

I got my water to break by doing yoga. It wasn't deliberate, but I attempted a pregnant version of childs pose (not a flattering pose for a preggo) and it did the trick. I didn't even get as far as childs pose, I just got to the crouching-getting-ready-to attempt to get down on the floor pose and it went. 28 hours later and I finally dialated and went into hard labor. Three pushes and she was out.

Here's a hint, when your GF's water breaks, you probably have hours before she is actually going to deliver, wait until the contractions are like 20-30 minutes apart and get that girl something to eat because they won't let her eat in the delivery room, then take her to the hospital. I'm hypoglycemic and I went 28 hours without eating because I went to the hospital as soon as my water broke. Also, she will want to wait as long as possible before getting the epidural, once she gets the epidural, they insert a catheter and she won't be able to get up after that. Not being able to get up can get very uncomfortable, even with or especially with the epidural because all of the anaesthesia will collect on one side or the other of her spine and then one of her legs will go completely numb and she will need help switching sides to allow that side to get some feeling back and then vice versa.

Also, don't believe them when they say that giving your baby a pacifier or a bottle in the hospital will keep them from accepting the breast. That's crap. I refused a paci and a bottle with my daughter and that child would take nothing but the breast for 18mo. I did the opposite with my son and he happily took anything you put in his mouth, including the breast. If your baby refuses to nurse on anything but your girlfriends breast, you will have one tired, cranky and ****** off girlfriend.

Chickenstock is on the 18th!

HAHA, we live about a mile away from the hospital, and I've been telling her that when her water breaks we're walking there! She thinks I'm joking but it's really not a bad idea. I don't think she's going the epidural route but I'm not 100% sure. My main goal for now is just trying to keep her happy and off my back!

the doctor had to brake my water two times, the middle time the nurse checking me broke it.

Luke, I hope she has a easy delivery. My first was ruff, as I had contractions going for 4 days before they took me in. Contractions were 30 mins apart and I wasn't dilated enough

. After 4 days of no sleep, I was mad, but once in the hospital, I got some meds and went to sleep, she popped out on day 5 of that mess. Still my biggest headache today too

Good morning everyone!

April 17th I got some mail order pullets from a reputable hatchery, one of which was a cuckoo maran pullet.
They're about 3 weeks old and while I have never had a cuckoo maran before and there isn't a second for comparison, but I think I was actually sent a cockeral.
This is based on the head pattern, the light and defined bar pattern on the wings, and the lack of tail feathers at this age.
Any input before getting rid of it?
I way over bought on chicks this year I need to downsize!

He kept flapping his wings, so it looks muddled there, but it is mostly white, very defined bar pattern. Picture isn't really helping here, making it look worse. Didn't notice until I uploaded sorry!

Barely any tail feathers, just starting! Different breeds, but my americaunas and welsummers from the same day hatch that were sexed pullets have like inch long tail feathers.

I would chill out on getting rid of the bird quite yet. I never had that breed but have many chicks, alot of the boys dont have tail feathers for a few weeks. Just give it some time in my opinion, in a few weeks you should be able to look at the comb and tell.
