Just watched teenagers cut in to the opposite lane to kill one of my young roosters that had been chased out there by my big dominate rooster. this wasn't a 'o we can't slow down' or 'O we didn't see it in time.' This was a slow down, aim, veer into other lane, and run my bird down! Soooo angry! I can't believe how heartless people can be!

So many people (if you could call them people) seem to like killing critters on or near the road. I just don't understand that mindset.

No baby yet BTW! But the miserable GF is sure letting me know she wants him out! lol

I have a Splash Bantam Cochin hen I'd sell....

That's so horrible!!!! I worry about my neighbor's hens when I see them on the road - I shoo them back towards home. Fortunately, we don't have that issue on our highway (knock on wood). People around here come looking if there is a loose animal. Our pig wanders occasionally, and everyone knows here and lets us know when she is astray. I'm so sorry you had to see that happen to your bird, did you get info on their car and license plate?

Ok long story short I purchased 5 chicks 7 weeks ago. One was a red star, but it looked more like a white leghorn. I'm noticing now with age it is not solid white but not red either. It's wings, neck and a few other areas seem to be changing a rusty color. Could it still be a red star? I'm attaching a photo that was taken fairly recently. Also it's supposed to be a pullet but ill be honest I'm getting concerned about that as well(it came from a place that does the sexing).
