I hung them both in the kitchen and refuse to wear my favorite one ( the one with the French Chickens) But I wear the Mocha one almost daily. Good thing washing it won't wear it out too fast!

Hello NC!!
We are in Johnston County and completely new to chickens (still in the process of rebuilding/restoring the coop that came with our little farmette). We'd LOVE any and all advice and suggestions you have for someone new to the "hobby"/lifestyle/passion/etc... I've done some research (although completely overwhelmed with all of the breeds to be honest)...interested in Cochins so far (like what I've heard about temperament). Any other suggestions for good layers with great dispositions for children? Suggestions on where a good place to purchase chicks in/around Johnston County are?? Thanks everyone. For a fine, mild-mannered chicken....that is an excellent egg-layer and a good meat-chicken,also,...I would highly recommend "Buff Orpington". They are also good "broody" hens...if you wish to hatch some of your own eggs.
