I'm great! got a light set up in my coop finally! I took a hanging work light, turned it sideways, hooked it on the outside wire of the coop so the ladies wouldn't get on it or the heat wouldn't be too much. (I know they get hot!) I have it on a timer! I don't claim to be an engineer soool...I finally got it set up and went to the house and realized that I had not put a light bulb in it!!!!! Had to go back and take it all down,,,thought I have to take the entire cage off of it (you don't!)....after I got it apart I realized that it had to be squeezed on one side to open!!!! Ok, maybe this should have been common sense! LOL Well, now the good part or maybe will be the bad part! The hook on the light had a small rubber cap on it....bright yellow. When I was trying to "undo" everything, it slid off into the run. When I finished, I looked for it and realized that my brahma, who has become the dominant and more aggressive of the group, had it in her beak and was trying to get away from the others with her treat. The others were chasing her. I ran around to the door thinking I could scare her to drop it! Yep, no one was running any longer and it was gone!!!! Now, if the brahma swallowed it...am I going to find her dead one morning? Because she is so big, will that help? By the way, I went out to the shed to close up and the light wasn't on......go ahead and laugh.........I didn't turn it on!

I don't see anything at all wrong with that story... just like RF said, sounds like a "normal" day to me!

Good afternoon everyone! Chick TV is highly entertaining here...the kiddos are LOVING it!! Hoping my temporary brooder holds up until we can finish the larger set up outside...we have HWC to hang over the top and a few spots to reinforce...then it's outside with the little rascals and an end to the constant "mommy, can I pet them?"!! LOL

Have a great weekend everyone

Good evening everybody. Chickens seem to be doing ok. They only got about an hour in the yard tonight. They won't get out tomorrow though. While at work this morning a guy asked me if I would be interested in going to the race at Bristol saturday for free. Well duh. Seats are just past start finish line. Can't wait. Never been to Bristol.
