Have a couple of questions....1.. My golden laced wyndotte is at least 9months and has not begun to lay.....anything wrong? 2...I give my ladies a small salad about every other day....greens, tomatoes, grapes, pumpkin seeds and crushed egg shells. Don't give it to them until the late afternoon....Is this too much ... too often? Also have oyster shell crushed and added to the feed.

Oyster/egg shell is best as free choice (especially if you have boys). Grape seeds are toxic afaik.

Is your GLW a he?

Does she have any symptoms of being eggbound?
I had an Ameraucana once that never started laying. Around 8 months she started to act weird and finally died.
From posts on backyard chicken the consensus was they thought she was egg bound.
Also, are you sure she is 9 months? (I know that sounds stupid, but I didn't know if you raised her from a baby chick or bought her slightly older and may have been given the wrong age).
My Wyandottes were always laying by 6 months, 9 months and it not being summer does seem sort of late.
Also if they weren't getting enough calcium from the shell the eggs could come out like rubberish without a solid shell, but as far as I know that wouldn't prevent them from laying at all.

Also I've heard people say tomatoes are also toxic to chickens, but mine eat them. They free range and go right in my garden. We pretty much put everything in the run for them to eat and I've never had a problem. I don't think that would effect them from never starting to lay eggs either if they didn't have other symptoms
