wow My idea of a coop has been made! Way to go Ourlittle flock. I love the Kennel arrangement. Craftsmanship very nice. Thanks for the intro! And welcome to the NC Flock of Insanity!

Oooooooooooooh, what are you going to have?! I've been wanting to goto the auction its only 30 minutes from here (my sister lives in Clayton off Main St). Wasn't going to go soon since I have a broody in the quarentine pen, and no where to put a new bird I pick up. Have to think on that.
Newhomesteader - we are so on the same page with possible chickens! Our lists are pretty much exactly the same!
Bhep - I've checked out the auction a few weeks ago just for fun, but got there pretty late and had both my little ones with me, so really just stood back and watched and enjoyed the action. But I was wondering - if you get there nice and early do you get a chance to check everything out before the auction starts and find out a little more about where the different chickens are coming from? It made me a little nervous as a newbie thinking about not knowing anything about the birds history and all. Any tips??? And what all are you taking to sell today?
Can't go this week - gotta work on my coop! But it was so much fun we'll definitely be going back!

The big difference will be the building. Morganton's building is more then twice the size of Winston's. There will be plenty of room inside for everyone to stay out of the rain.

Beware of buying from auctions, you do get some rogue sellers at them. Also, you will need to quarantine your birds forat least 30 days before introducing them to any other birds. If possible look to buy from people on here or from recommendations from BYCer's.
We purchased our Barred Rocks from a local so was able to see where they came from. Our birds are very healthy and good layers, we get 4 eggs a day.......
