Guys, I have been sick for over two weeks!!! Started out with a sore throat, then head cold, w/ runny nose. My ears, face, and head hurt too. I feel like crap. Finally went to the Dr. He seemed to think I had a sinus infection, and placed me on antibiotics. Ive been taking those for 3 days now, and still not feeling much better. (maybe a little) All I feel like doing is sitting outside with my chickens. No housework of course. Any old fashioned remedy ideas??

Have you heard of a Neti Pot? I would highly recommend one if you do not have one, or have not tried it. It basically uses warm (steam) water to help flush out your sinuses. I usually add a little Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) to the neti pot to help with the infection. GSE is a great natural antibiotic, although it is quite powerful, so if you do use it, be sure to dilute it in the neti pot. If you don't have GSE or can't find it. Another good tool is to use Chamomile (as in the tea) and put that as a steam bath (1qt water to 10 tea bags, or a handful of dried chamomile flowers) - then create a steam tent with a towel and the bowl of water/tea. Cover your head with the towel as you are leaning over the bowl...breath through your nose and have a box of tissues nearby as it will help to break up the mucus. Also until your sinuses are clear, (if you can) stay clear of dairy (what? I know, but dairy is a known mucus producing material...you want to dry up the mucus not add to it) Hope this helps Carolina!! Feel better soon!!

I've heard of a neti pot, but am too scared to use one. I'm afraid I'd drown. I have to hold my nose to swim under water!!! And dang it- just bought a gallon of milk at the grocery store yesterday.
