set 19 eggs last Saturday due to hatch late tomorrow...one hatched last night, another today and 6 already pipping and one zipping....two hatched are french black copper marans with the same pipping along with a Spitzhauben.

Someone on here should be proud...guess I need to pick up more eggs....

Not that I don't adore you all, but looking for another interesting thread on here for when I'm overcome with insomnia (which is quite often!)
The ones I've come across have been rather boring compared to you guys.
Anyone have any suggestions on other threads they are active on and like?

Oh I did stumble upon one that was role playing as wolves. This was new for me. There were like 200 pages of this ongoing story and dialogue between all these people portraying their alter-egos as wolves. Pretty interesting, not my thing, actually I didn't even know it was a thing? From skimming through it they were all really into it though, it was almost like a book.

I would recommend a read through "CSU Chicken State University" You will learn alot about what to look for in good quality birds in all kinds of breeds. And they are still going through the breeds, so its not done yet. And they tend to go through it and cut out the little chit chat parts, so its mostly about the "breed of the moment" in each section.

Less than a day old from french black copper maran eggs....ideas as to why color is different?

Chick only lived about 4 hours......
