You are welcome. If you remove the larvae, be careful not to puncture them, as they release toxins into the wounds when hurt! Nasty things.

My first degree was as a Vet Tech. I still remember enough to get me by on the farm!

Good morning folks

We are enjoying a visit from the our youngest. It's been
wonderful to have all the girls here and revisiting the
stories of them growing up.
DD2 and DD3 and I went to the Vander Haunted Trail
Saturday night and had a good time. I think next year
we will need to bring a grandbaby or two so the folks
putting on the show will have someone to scare......we
frustrated the folks putting on the show but we had fun

hope everyone has a good day

I have a broody silkie. She has an eye that is shut due to crust. I just noticed it cause I had left her be to do her thing. What is it and how do I treat? I dont see anyones else with it. Thanks

Picture? If it's jusy eye crusties, warm wet compress to soften. This will work for a lot of things, but it would be helpful to have a pic. I brushed off a loose pox off an eye, but again, it was relatively loose and not in the actual eyeball.

Good morning everyone! I got my first egg from chicks I raised yesterday!
YAY!

it is aweome to get that first egg! I have girls that were hatched the end of May. Some have had red combs for quiet a while and are doing the rooster sqat when I get near them so I am thinking I should see some eggs soon.

DB, glad Hollow could help with the rabbit!

Kristen, good luck with the crusty eye.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi All. Hope everyone had a great weekend. We worked on building a new "Coop Condo" for our girls on Saturday and some on Sunday. Building out of pallets I got from work. My husband was doubtful and couldn't see my vision at first, but once he got started we were in tune. So far turning out great and I think the girls will love it. We have them in a temporary coop made out of our dog kennel. We tarped the top and put some boards around the side, but really feel they need something more permanent and solid, especially with winter coming on. I will post pictures of our progress in the coop section when we get closer to being done. Does anyone happened to have any Easter Eggers for sale. Would like to get a couple more - at least 5 -6 months would be great. We live just below Roxboro, so the closer the better.

Thanks all! JollieChick
