This is my last hatch of the year, and by far the most expensive one.
I sold a bunch of my kids clothes on ebay to get the money on paypal to buy some eggs I really wanted.
I had 3 dozen between day 18 and 14 going strong and spent over $150 on the eggs through different ebay sellers.

I have my incubator in my formal dining room with the doors shut (where it's been sitting and running nonstop since May) and my kids KNOW they do not go in there and they do not mess with my incubator.  Sometime between noon and dinner my daughter went in, turned the knob on the incubator all the way up, and closed the door and left.

I bought another incubator today to have a separate one for lockdown/hatching.  I go in after dinner to set it up and see my thermometer is at 115!  I immediately open the top to cool them off, and the eggs feel so hot.  I start gently opening my eggs going into lockdown to see if one will bleed or have a heartbeat.  Nothing, all 36 eggs are dead, the insides are super hot.

My husband deploys to Afghanistan on Sunday and I planned these eggs out to hatch around then so I had something positive to look forward to and something to cheer me up.  My family seems to think I am overreacting (and I'm sure it's a lot of things combined) but I just sat at my kitchen table and sobbed like a 5 year old for the past 30 minutes.  It's such a pointless waste of life!!!  And it's not like I just have $150 to buy more of the eggs.

There were Blue Isbars, Swedish Flower Hens, Marraduna Basque, Blue Salmon Favorelles, Exchequer Leghorns & Super Blue layers.  I'm so frustrated, I'm sorry I just needed to vent to someone....

:hit. I am so, so sorry. :(

There were some great dog costumes at my club meeting Tuesday night. They have a dog costume contest every year. It's the Cape Fear Dog Obedience Club, after all!
About the only animal around here that will allow any clothes on it is the teacup poodle. I think she knows that she is too small to fight it or her old owners dressed her up. But even with that being said, she has no costume, I did see a little cute peacock dog outfit that would have fit her at Wally world. But its still at Wally world

Question: Does anyone have true rumpless araucana eggs for sale?

Also, I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have Favorelles or Isbar hatching eggs for sale? I swear I'm destined never to have my Isbars!

I have one baby Isbar and two eggs going into lockdown on Saturday. Cross your crossables! Maybe next year, if you haven't gotten yours by then!

I am so sorry!! I hope you can find some replacements, or chicks. Sorry your family isn't being more supportive. Maybe if the kids were more involved in the process (or at least understood what was going on) they would be more inclined to leave the incubator alone? Might be a good "family project" to help them deal with dad's deployment?
