Good morning folks

If it wasn't for the calendar telling me it's December
I would think it was spring with all the warm weather I
am enjoying. It just doesn't feel like Christmas weather.

Just saw it's going to be 77 on Sunday!!! Can't wait!!!!

I think I'm going to need another freezer for these turkeys! Only gotten one done and there is SO much ground turkey!!! I will have to weigh one of these bad boys before cutting it all up and deboning it.

Anybody know what to do about an air sac swollen under the wing. She hit the top of the coop with her wing now she has a swollen knot under it. She acts like it doesn't bother her. Didn't know if there was anything I could do to help her.

I have 1 grandchild who has reached "That" age of non-belief
in Santa Claus....... and in the usual fashion they insist on
bursting the bubble of joy of the other kids by telling them that
Santa isn't real. We have tried to explain the spirit of Christmas
to them but it just isn't settling into that hard " I know it all " head.
I am most tempted to let them experience their conviction completely
and not give any " Christmas " gifts to them since they don't believe.

When mine reached "that age", we told them the history of Santa Claus and how people have carried the tradition on. Then we told them that they were now old enough to BE Santa. So after that, they got to pick someone to do something special for...as well as help with gifts for the younger kid, in Amy's case. It worked for us.

I like Hollowoakfarm's suggestion. My family told me and my siblings that when you stop believing in Santa Claus, he stops coming, so we better keep saying we believe or he's not coming. Of course, we knew it was BS, but it was their way of letting us know that they were running the show and we had to play along if we wanted to be included. Worked for all of us.

The history and spirit of the holiday has been explained to them and yet they
feel they need to "enlighten" all the younger children that there is no Santa.......
it's all the adults bringing the gifts. We have tried to explain that although it is
the adults doing the gifts it is because the spirit of giving and doing for others.
It's like beating my head on a wall soooooo...........don't want to believe in the
good and spirit of giving then you don't need to receive any giving of others......
and DON'T ruin it for others. If we were still in Michigan I'd get them some coal
from the docks.
