Good morning folks

In just 2 days the cherry trees on FTCC campus have sprung
open into full bloom in all their pink glory, daffodils are up and
sunny yellow and even the camellias are ablaze in color.........
it is spring........early spring but still spring. Cool temps for today
and wet stuff will feel more like winter but I am convinced it is
over......time to work that garden

hope everyone has a good day

I sure hope winter is over - My old bones are tired of carrying water carrying in wood and all the other that goes with winter

I agree! I saw dogwood blooming and cherry trees on my way to work yesterday and am convinced of the same! I think it is safe to plant cold weather crops like brassicas and onions but I'm going to hold off on the salad greens like spinach. :) Threw some clover seed on the ground last week when it rained. Hope it sprouts soon :)
Good morning everyone!!!! Guess we really should fix the screen in downstairs window, Penny seems to think it's a turkey door...
That's too funny! I think my turkey would do the same if given the opportunity. :) Got two first pullet eggs yesterday! One was in the deep litter partially buried and I think is from my Barnevelder. The other was in a nesting box and I think is from either my EE or Ameraucana.. I'm hoping the EE because it looks more green than blue :/

Next to an average store bought egg for comparison. (I borrowed the white egg. I don't buy eggs for eating lol)

Sleet! Yuck! Careful driving up there!

I'll be putting in my cold crops this weekend. Two weeks later than usual, but at least they're going in! Potatoes, peas, onions, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, mustard, kale, carrots...yay! And I'm starting other stuff in the house. I forgot I gave my light setup to my son who was doing hydroponics in his house last year. I have to run buy new fixtures! Hopefully will get those today. Then starting some herbs, strawberries, beans, tomatoes and a few other things. Need some green!

Feels weird doing chores with the bulls gone to freezer camp. And one person who was getting a side might be backing out, so I might have a side of beef up for sale in the next couple days. They hang for two weeks and cut to order, plus vacuum seal. Pm if you want more details, or to get on the list.
