North Carolina

Okay......I need to clarify something as I don't want to mislead anyone.
EEs can lay ANY color of egg as long as it is color. What I call my birds
as EEs are Ameraucanas of non-showable colors and Ameraucana crosses.
So most of them lay blue colored eggs. If you wanted to be technical, Olive
Eggers are EEs that lay green eggs. I have one EE that lays a greyish yellow
egg and a couple that lay the pinkish brown. Some of my F2 OEs are laying
a dark khaki color and varying shades of that as well as dark olive. I don't know
if I have enough extras of those but we are selling eggs soon.

The coop is looking good Hollow. Try Rim Rd feed for the wire.....it's on the
corner of the old Rim Rd not far from TSC.

Check souther
Lowe's and TSC are both out of six foot 2 x 4 woven wire. Where else can we look? Hubby would like to finish up that chicken house, and the wire is needed for over windows and door frame. He doesn't want to piece it on the doors, either.

Speaking of which...i should get pictures of where we stand right now!

check southern states if theres one near you

So the middle egg was laid today by my EE (since we're on that subject) and it is a really nice light olive color. However! I am pretty sure she is also responsible for the outer eggs as well, which are minty in color (laid last week)... I thought eggs were supposed to get lighter as the season progresses... Not drastically darker! Lol

I go to the one on Hwy 210/53....Cedar Creek I think is what it is called.
It is on the first Saturday of the month. These pullets have just started
laying but will grow just a touch more for maturity. The OEs will lay shades
of green and the EEs will lay shades of blue.
pm me please with ur planned arrival time and ill come out to pick ..so maybe i will be first.. lol.. i went to that one this month but i must have went after the good ones were gone.. i guess on flock swap day just getting up with the chickens isnt enough..lol.. green and blue sound awesome

EE egg color can vary from egg to egg and some will darken
after the first of the season eggs are laid.... at least my girls
can do that. It is usually the dark brown egg breeds that lighten
as the season goes on and with age as well as I have read.
