GOOD LUCK!

the day after my very first incubator lockdown my chicks pipped....I was so nervous they would hatch too early, but they hatched the next day on day 20!

in sure this isn't your first bator hatch.....but its always nerve racking when you done know how they will turn out! but the excitement and relied after the hatch is over.....now that's what im waiting for! hahahah

the worst thing I have had from a hatch is a few crooked toes I never fixed and a cross beak which isn't to bad.....ive never had a bird die, but I have almost lost this little guy.....

flock members from his broody mom pecked the entire shell off of him before he pipped....

BUT....I WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK I HAVE!!!

Yard side and one end of this one. Building is 20 x 8, divided into two 10 x 8 sections. We'll be doing one more after this one, then all the breeds I'm keeping will have their our house and pasture, plus room for brooding and growout. No more breeds!

some TSCs have the khaki ducklings....I keep having you in mind about those ducks! they also have SBs so I may get one or two!!!!

Are you getting the khaki eggs from Roy?

I will keep that in mind but I worry about hatchery stock. I would rather get from actual breeders but it seems like most breeders that I've found on eBay are just using stock from hatchery chicks anyway. If I get eggs they will be from @Coop Scoop Boogie but I do have some ducklings lined up from Roy. I am so nervous about ducklings because they make such a mess and grow so fast! At least it's going to be warmer weather so they can probably go out when they outgrow the brooder. :)

ME TOO. First hatch of the year! Incubator and broody hatching by Thursday/Friday for day 21 at 5pm on Thursday. :)

this is my first so I'm uber worried do you know how high i should set my humidity?

which flock swap are you taking them to? how much would you like for them ? I want some quality pullets and I feel like most of the folks on here regular must be good chicken owners with generally healthy birds.. ( have u seen some of the things people bring to those swaps.. they are supposed to be healthy , but a lot of times they look diseased to me.. maybe im too picky.lol) but DH and I were just discussing colored eggs last night.. how old are they .. id like them a bit older if possible .. but id take chicks if its all I can find. I need 2 or 3 .
I go to the one on Hwy 210/53....Cedar Creek I think is what it is called.
It is on the first Saturday of the month. These pullets have just started
laying but will grow just a touch more for maturity. The OEs will lay shades
of green and the EEs will lay shades of blue.

my first EVER so worried UGH and its in the school incubator my stress levels are through the roof :barnie

I always stress but omg I keep my incubator beside my bed!! I can't imagine if if was on a completely different property from me!!

I will have a target humidity of around 60% when I see internal pips. Until then it's between 20-40% depending on how the air cells look during the first 18 days. :)
