Does the valbazen have a chart to scale the wormer for chickens?
Valbazen -one half cc/ml for standard size chickens, one quarter cc/ml for smaller chickens including silkies. You can use an oral syringe to squirt it down their throats individually or you can inject it into a small piece of bread and give each chicken a piece of bread....they gobble it up. - dump the eggs for two weeks

This is supposed to be the coldest day of the week. Tomorrow will be warmer. I had to take 3 of my chicks 4wk olds back inside because they were shivering and droopy. I put the rest back in their cage with a heat lamp and a blanket over them. I'm glad they survived last night out side with the older 8wk olds. Posting a pic of them tonight.

Why are they outside at night and not in a coop? just asking

I only have 1 coop right now and it's full of grown hens. So I made a separate enclosure inside the run with a dog house to use as a coop. I can't keep them inside because they stink and the temps hadn't been too low.

I have 2 frizzels about 5 months old 1 boy 1 girl that I would like to trade for either barred rock, black copper marans, or cinnamon if anyone in the area is interested.

Yeah, a chicken can do it, but it's also possible a squirrel stole it, then realized it was fake and dropped it. The squirrels are starting to become a problem for me with their egg stealing. I think we're going to have to start removing some of them.

I would have thought of an outside intruder of some kind but I have a small Ft. Knox...every inch is wrapped with 1/4" hardware cloth as well as buried over a foot down with pavers around the perimeter....LOLOL My DH joked with me about being a little OCD with my predator prevention techniques when I was getting it ready for my four ladies. I told him I didn't want to have to go out there and pick up pieces of my girls over my stupidity! If something breaks thru my perimeter ..... I know I did my thing right!!! We have all kinds of varments around but never have seen any sign of any of them trying to penetrate the wire...or the wood. Girls have always layed well thru cold and heat..showing no sign of traumatic event...Hope my luck continues !!! I think it was one of my girls...! Have 2 RIR, 1 GLW, 1 dark brahma...wouldn't put it past any of them LOL

I have posted this on the frizzle thread but have had no result...in fact there's NO activity! Went to the breeds, genetics, etc but didn't see any activity since :2007! So it may not apply here but would like some input if there's someone out there who can help me....I acquired this yr old frizzle and I love him. I know he's a silkie roo but was wondering what kind he might be crossed with...Who can guess?????? LOLOL He's not happy in this small pen,,,got another one on the way...don't feel this on is safe even though I have a D ring on the opener. The bottom is nothing but 2x4" piece of wire which is good for letting him peck at t)he grass (if winter ever ceases!

It'd be hard to tell because a mix breed will have all kinds of characteristics that may not show up on the parents. I'm guessing some type of wheaten based breed and silkie

Is there such thing as a standard size breeding with a bantam like a silkie? Because he's fairly good size.. Might could hold his own with my GLW or RIR
