Been a member for awhile, but never post.
Thought I'd finally say hi.
Grew up dairy farming in NY, but I've been stationed here at Bragg for about 8 years now.
Counting down til retirement & we can move out of the city and get a real farm.
Welcome! We bought our place a few years before hubby retired in 2008. Worked well for us, since we knew we were staying in the general area. Got our spot about halfway between my job and his, and it works. He was a city boy, but I know he'd never go back now!

This has been an awful week. I've lost 2 hens and 2 guineas. We've had occasional losses before, but never this many and in such a short period of time. I'm heartbroken and feeling completely defeated. We have been using our barn as a coop and in spite of all my efforts and lots and lots of hardware cloth, something keeps getting in. I guess it's time to just give up and get a real chicken coop. My husband is busy and doesn't have time to help me build one. My birthday is in 2 weeks and I've been told that I can have a chicken coop for my birthday (Yay!). So my question is, does anyone know a good builder of quality predator proof coops in NC? We live in Moore county. Thanks!

There's one on Craigslist. At least in the fayetteville nc farm and garden section. But I think he can travel.
