Ok well I tried my meet and greet and figured a pecking order would be worked out no punn intended but who would have thunk a young EE roo with almost no spur would whoop a mature asil with 2 inch spurs, I seperated them first sign of blood an put vasoline on hi cut comb but unless I build a new coop I won't keep him... He was fine and showed no aggression until my Don juan cassa nova jumped him but after that he wouldn't back down just kept jumping up to get smacked down
it mineaswell be quarantine its my mutt flock and I do take steps when I don't know where they're coming from but this came from my old bosses yard and they are from blood I sold himDidn't you say the Asil group was new? Don't you quarantine? I don't care where a new bird comes from, a quarantine is a safety feature. Some diseases have a thirty day or more incubation. If I brought in a new bird, it would be in quarantine for a minimum of 45 days, with a "disposable" one of mine in case it's an asymptomatic carrier. I've lost one flock to imported disease. Never again.
