I just wanted to throw in that it was awesome meeting some of yall Saturday at the flock swap..and bhep.. I loved ur tshirt .where do I get one.

Ok well I tried my meet and greet and figured a pecking order would be worked out no punn intended but who would have thunk a young EE roo with almost no spur would whoop a mature asil with 2 inch spurs, I seperated them first sign of blood an put vasoline on hi cut comb but unless I build a new coop I won't keep him... He was fine and showed no aggression until my Don juan cassa nova jumped him but after that he wouldn't back down just kept jumping up to get smacked down

Didn't you say the Asil group was new? Don't you quarantine? I don't care where a new bird comes from, a quarantine is a safety feature. Some diseases have a thirty day or more incubation. If I brought in a new bird, it would be in quarantine for a minimum of 45 days, with a "disposable" one of mine in case it's an asymptomatic carrier. I've lost one flock to imported disease. Never again.

I sold my boss a flock of red jungle fowl, scatter bred asil, grey jungle fowl x old english, brassy backs and some red asil x black australorp that were my twin brothers project 11 years ago he let them free range his land and do they're own thing wild until 3 years ago then they all went to his friend steven for a year and between hawks and dogs this 3 is what was left so steven took them back and 11 years later I end up with 3 of my chickens from ofspring of wildlike breeding from the above named chickens... Ill post pics of these hens but you can see the grey jungle fowl in them

Hi, Everyone!

I'm from NE Tennessee, but I wanted to drop in here and say how happy we are with the experience we had getting chicks from Jeremy at Fayetteville NC Poultry. We are brand new to chickens, and Jeremy was super informative and helpful. In addition to answering LOTS of newbie questions, he helped us choose breeds that would do well where we live and with the set-up we have, and he took care of the chicks we picked out until we could arrange to get them from Fayetteville to where we live in Greene County, Tennessee. We've had them for a week now, and everything is going really well so far.

I found out about Fayetteville NC Poultry here in this forum, so thank you all for the help!

Good morning folks

What a nice weekend we had......good weather and good company
but I did get a bit too much sun. I need to remember to watch out for
that. Since I had overheated a few years ago I can get overly hot
way too easy now but not always.......can't seem to find what sets
it off. If nothing else it's a good reason to get in a pool

hope everyone has a good day
