Good morning folks

Hope everyone has made it through the storms with
no damage or serious flooding. The pens here are mud.
Means dirty eggs with the feather-footed breeds

That drives me nuts but the girls hate being locked up
in the coop so.........

Good morning everyone!
Looks like rain again today!

Are many of you going to the East Fay flock swap this weekend???
I have nothing to sell and definitely nothing to buy, but I hear there are so many people there I'd love to take the kids to walk around and see the animals.

PS-- If you're selling goats, don't let me buy any!!!!

My first test hatch of my English BBS Orpingtons was 90%, without doing any butt trimming! Yay! This hatch was for blues and splashes only, and of the ten eggs set, one didn't hatch, one is blue, and the rest splash! Woohoo! I love the splash! Another hatch in a week. We'll see what I end up with from that one!

Eight dozen eggs went in the incubator yesterday. I think Beth is contagious.

We survived the rains. In fact, it really didn't rain too much at the house. Now to get it dried out a bit and get my coop finished by tomorrow evening!!!

Awesome! I'd love to see pics :) 8 dozen eggs, you guys must have huge incubators!!!

I need a bigger incubator! I didn't do the math too well on the eggs I'm getting this weekend. I have 42 spots on my automatic egg turner (I just have one of those little incubators), and with extras I should have about 60 eggs. Haha and I finally broke my broody! Has anyone found their hatch rate to be lower when they hand turned vs using the automatic turner? Obviously the turner is more convenient, but it seems like the constant slight movement would be more effective then just turning 3 times a day?
