Yay! I got my first Olive Egg today! I have 2 I've been stalking the nesting box waiting for them to start, they're like 22 weeks now but it feels like it's been forever!
Picture doesn't really do it justice, I took it with my phone.

My Blue Breda finally laid her first egg yesterday too. She was 28 weeks to the day, they take forever to start, but gorgeous birds she's one of my favorite.

Looks like this storm's going to hold off a bit so out to get some plants in the ground.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I wish you had someone close by that could help you out!
Don't get discouraged. We're always here for you!
I was able to get a bigger feed container this am and a small chain. LOL I would have looked like a contortionist from afar but I got both the waterer and feeder hanging and finally off the ground. That has got to help . I felt a lot better about things today, but I'm starting to plan how I can begin to get a small coop..been studying several on the BYC...I'll be ok...I'm stubborn.

Quote: Good luck with building your own mini coop, just please don't over do it and be careful. I remember helping DH (who is a great framer by trade) build mine. I only got shot once with the nail gun, luckily it only bounced off of my arm since I was a ways away. But he has shot himself in the shin bone before due to the way the nail gun bounced between some rafters. After you are done, you'll have to put up some pictures to show off your hard work.
