Is there a flock swap anywhere this Saturday???

Or if anyone knows anyone looking for a bunch of started chicks I have 25 six week old ones I'll let go for $60. It's at least 15 girls and 8-10 males, 2 I'm still not sure on.
They're all healthy and docile, I just don't have the space.
I tried to introduce them to my other pen, but they started pecking on them so I had to put them all back in the tractor. Need to rehome them before we leave for a week...

I saw your ad on craigslist, would you sell some separately? I'd like the Rose Comb Leghorn & Speckled Sussex

If I remember right, doubleataining on this thread was making them and selling them.
I'm sure she can tell you lots about them and what she uses to make them. As for colored
eggs........I love mine and all the colors but some folks do NOT want anything but white,
cream or brown eggs and will not eat or use colored eggs.......food for thought if you are
selling eggs. It may be best to see what your customers will accept.

Yup, I make/breed SBEL and BBEL and lots more. Feel free to ask any questions about them.

Does anyone have any D'uccles and/or Japanese for sale?

Prefer less than 12 weeks or so.. I am having a heck of a time finding them anywhere in the state

Try MaryRuth Langdon here on BYC.......I think she has D'uccles but I
don't know if she is selling any.

Coop...try putting a bar of IVORY soap under your bed sheet near your feet...works for me

I will have to get a bar and give it a try if can get DH to keep it between his feet
.......unless you are pulling a leg.

So I have been living in our new home for 4 weeks now and I got a call from our old place saying I would never believe it but there are 20 baby guineas running around in the back field.

I couldn't believe it so I drove down there to look and sure enough, I counted at least 20, possibly 21-23 (so hard to count that many little moving babies).
400

Here is what was (and is) so hard for me to believe:

2 weeks before we moved, I discovered a rat snake stealing eggs from the guinea nest so I removed the remaining eggs and incubated them. I assumed the guinea stopped laying eggs because this was her second nest gone wrong.

Right around the time we moved, the female guinea disappeared and I didn't see her (nor did the landlady) for days. So we figured she was either broody or eaten by something. Later she was spotted with her boys foraging so it was presumed she was indeed incubating.

So how did she lay 20+ eggs in about 2 weeks?
How did that many eggs from one hen stay viable that long?
And how did she cover them all?

I just don't understand!!!! :)

P.S. I am positive it is only one hen. I raised them all from eggs last year and observed their behaviour and sounds and I KNOW there is only one girl!
