Nothing like "big ruff tough" daddy playing tea with the kidos. All be it, he was a little surprised when he drank lemonade instead of tea. Too bad I broke my camera yesterday :( .

While we were driving through pouring rain in Raleigh....we got a sprinkle at home that didn't even settle the dust properly. Grrrrrr.
Same here.....as DH says......we have a weather witch who hates getting wet

Enjoying the cooler weather. We spend 2 days enclosing my carport with chicken wirer. I now have a 21 x 10 shelter with three chicken runs. My coop we put up a temporary 6 ft chicken wirer for a fence. Next year we are going to fence in the yard for the dogs. I am using kennel panels for now, 20 of them, so they will make a nice yard for the chickens. When we bought are house my husband wanted to take down the shed and carport. I told him no there'll be great for chickens!

Hey everyone! Its like a monsoon came through here last night!! We drove home from watching a movie with some friends last night around 10:30ish and I could barely see the road. A drive that takes about 35 minutes took me around an hour. Now there isn't a single cloud in the sky.

Oh and I took that chicken test you posted @Hollowoakfarm I was a Belgium Bantam too! lol.

On monday we went to some people in Lancaster who build chicken coops (because we don't quite have the time to build something we want) and put down a deposit for a coop! It will be big enough for around 12-15 chickens. So we will have to get more than one, but these people were extremely friendly!! And their work is amazing, sturdy, and great quality. So happy to be getting our permanent coop situation figured out!

Just wanted to share how my little Orpington chicks are doing! We've figured out that two are pullets and the one is a cockerel.

The hens are a really pretty blue color!! Its interesting though to see the buff showing up on their chests. Supposedly this is common for Blue/Buff crosses. But I think they are just absolutely gorgeous! And they are so pretty!

And our little cockerel is getting to be real pretty too! But he'll have to be sold when he starts crowing, because we don't need more than one big Orpington rooster around
