Dutchbunny, hope you recover quickly! You are soooo young to go through something like that! Take care of yourself!

When you have time and energy, you might want to post a list of what you want to sell.

Absolutely the last hatch of the year. Pockets, a bantam cochin, has 7 Mille d'Uccles. These are from my pair. They are from a very good line. These were hatched in an incubator from Mon-Wed. From the 9 apparently good eggs, 7 hatched. I set the eggs 4 days apart after we found my Mille hen's nest. The last set was not due till Fri, but they hatched on Wed. These d'Uccle normally hatch right on day 21. This was not because of the incubator. Evidently it was hot enough outside to start the incubating before we found the nest.

Pockets is a proven mother. We opened the door to the broody house to let her out. I haven't put the ramp on yet, so we had to sit the babies out.

What a lovely picture! And I love her name :) have fun with your D'uccles :)

I suppose it is that time of year that people are wrapping up their hatching season. With my rooster molting he has not been performing as well with fertilization so I am incubating my last Blue Ameraucana and Olive Egger batch for the year. I intend to sell my black and splash Ameraucana breeding pair and no longer work on them as a breed.
Any eggs I hatch for the rest of the year will be shipped eggs to add more diversity to my flock.

What breeds are you guys phasing out?
Will anyone be incubating shipped eggs this fall?

I'm adding Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas. I'm considering phasing out the Welsummers. I like them, but i also have the Golden Cuckoo Marans...and do I really need TWO dark egg layers? Really? On the other hand, I'm not selling chicks from the GCMs at this point, where the Wellie chicks sell well. Such a dilemma. I've got eggs in from a different bloodline of BBS English Orpingtons. The ones I got this spring turned out to have lots of faults. We're putting all the cockerels in the freezer tomorrow and the pullets to the layer pen. My breeders are very good quality birds, and I won't drag them down with those! But the new eggs are from good birds, so I have high hopes on them. Looks like I'll be holding on to my Gold-laced English Orpington cockerels. I had decided not to continue with those, but still have two males; one black and one blue. I keep selling the black, and it keeps falling through. Someone wants the blue, but we keep being unable to meet. Looks like they are here to stay...as long as they remain gentlemen, they can hang out with the layers and keep them guarded. I could put them over my black hens and produce GL that way, but I really just don't want to mess with it. If anyone wants to go that route, let me know and we can work something out.

I'm  about an hour from RM. They will be given a good life until they are kindly put in my freezer. :)

LOL yes no cock fighting here. They are given a nice life running around the yard and annoying the neighbors until they are needed and kindly put in the freezer to feed my family or the LGDs. :)

Thank you for being honest about it. :)
