haha it's so weird seeing chickens in urban environments. I used to have two roosters in a crowded neighborhood. No one would suspect there were chickens there except when you heard the constant crowing.

Yea, we've had to put a No-Crow collar on him to help him stay away from the stew pot lol. But yea, we've had numerous people ask "Are you the family that has chickens?" and they think it's very cool.

And this is the reason we're in the process of looking for a home out of a neighborhood and with much more land.

Hellos everyone. My husband, kids and I just moved to Eastern North Carolina about 3 weeks ago. Sadly I had to give all my chickens away before we moved, but I am happy to say that we just put an offer on a house and hope to be moved in by mid January. I plan on getting more chickens as soon as we are settled in. I am considering getting some ducks as well. Does anyone else here have ducks? If so how are they compared to raising chickens? We will be converting an old small horse stable into the chicken coop and I was wondering if I would need to keep the ducks and chickens separated or if they would be okay living together.

It's Black Friday. Ugh. We will avoid shoppers and stores today as we toodle about our business. Those of you who choose to go out...good luck!

Like the rest of my family we will avoid black Friday. But we will still do a dangerous thing. Visit the fridge for all that banana pudding, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, etc. that is left over.

Just like you guys, I am avoiding Black Friday! I went to Dollar General to pick up a few necessities. We are doing our big meal with family tomorrow. I spent today cleaning and baking.
But....one of my hens has started laying again! Tiny eggs, same size as the bantam and this is from my flock of barred rocks. Have gotten two this week, so I'm hoping they will all start again.
