We went up to DC to do T-Day with DD and the new Awesome Grandson. And his dad and all that side of the family. Somewhere between 45-50 people for food and football. OMG! Overwhelming for this introvert, but got some good time with the people I care about so it was good overall.

We went up Wednesday evening and drove back this morning. Which works because DD and SIL had to drive to Jersey today for a high school reunion! People going every direction this year. But there is no place like home!

I think it was last year when I actually went on my first black friday to best buy. I bought the biggest Mac they had, and the discount covered the taxes on it so it was worth it. I wanted to go this year but I honestly don't need or want anything this year. I wish chicken feed went on sale lol

I HAD to go get some sweat shirts for my husband since we are building a house and my husband started wiring it today and needed some new ones since he has lost so much weight in recent years. I took a glance at the "Sales" while in WALMART and had to laugh. There was a tablet that I bought this past summer on "Sale" for $30 more than I paid for mine. LMAO!!! If you go shopping, know what the normal prices are so you don't get sucked in.

Hellos everyone. My husband, kids and I just moved to Eastern North Carolina about 3 weeks ago. Sadly I had to give all my chickens away before we moved, but I am happy to say that we just put an offer on a house and hope to be moved in by mid January. I plan on getting more chickens as soon as we are settled in. I am considering getting some ducks as well. Does anyone else here have ducks? If so how are they compared to raising chickens? We will be converting an old small horse stable into the chicken coop and I was wondering if I would need to keep the ducks and chickens separated or if they would be okay living together.

First off, welcome to Eastern North Carolina! I raise chickens and ducks, the most common thing you will hear about raising ducks is they are messy. My ducks (Miniature Silver Appleyards) free range all year long and to me they are not that messy if you let them have a big area. The messiest they are is when they are around a tub of water they can fit in and they splash it out and turn the area around it into a mud pit.
