The older pullet was born I believe on Jan. 5th and the younger was a few weeks after that, I would have to go back and find her hatch date to be exact. Glad they are doing well, should have some fun outside as it is soo nice.

thanks, I have a coop that is waiting for my silkies, and though it might be a good place to put the girls until they are old enough to go in with the older flock. I think their too young to be with the adults. hey congrats on the hatchs and pips and zips. can't wait to see pics..

Ooooh... I can't WAIT for pictures!

I have to check on my broodies this afternoon. I'm expecting 1 hatch on Monday, some Japanese Bantams. I can't go out until after 4, and need to feed everyone anyways. Plus I think the "Going Green" coops need a good cleaning. (The compost pile with thank me too!)

Maybe I'll take pictures of the little broody brats!

Ht - I think I will keep my $700 and just enjoy staring at photos of your babies!!

I might even stay GREEN with envy, but at least my husband would still love me...I'm not sure he'd even LOOK at me if I spent $700 on a faulty egg...

Well...we went out to the Habitat for Humanity Restore today in Clayton...I am sorry to say that it was NOT what we were hoping for. Also, we went to the cull bin at Home Depot and again, I think I had higher hopes for what they offered, but sadly....there was nothing we could use.

All in all it wasn't a total loss
big_smile.png
my husband gave me a huge hug and said, "no matter what honey, we're going to get you this coop built like a barn!" awwwwww!! What a great guy huh? We found out that Home Depot will not deliver to us (assuming we couldn't get a truck to borrow) because we are "too far out" - how's that for living in the middle of nowhere? Haha. Lowes does deliver "anywhere" for a flat fee. If we can't get a truck to borrow then we will have the materials delivered.

We settled for a price list and a piece of drywall and paint...the hubby insisted on finishing the upstairs room while we still work out the final details on the materials. Did I mention he still did NOT have a material's list, so it was all...I might need this or that.

I am going to drive out to the Raleigh Habitat Restore on Thursday (the one in Raleigh is only open Thurs - Sat, 10am-5pm; the one in Clayton is only open on Saturdays 8:30-3) and see what they have to offer. We're suppose to have everything delivered next weekend and he is confident that it will only take him 2 weekends to have it built...I will let him live in his fantasy!!

!! I will keep you all posted!!
