North Carolina

Towards the end of the show my son decided to change my Monday plans. He broke 3 of his front teeth, all permanent teeth to boot. After a visit to the dentist this morning, he will be getting them fixed this afternoon. Now to see if any of my 3 hooligans listen any better to me.......probably not!

Oh no! i hope he feels better soon... and you too!

Ughh... had to separate my two roos in the main coop today. Youngblood Frizzle guy decided to take on my 3 year old Silkie roo. No one was really wounded, other than the Silkie's pride, and after a bath and blowdry he was perky again. (He was very chatty during his salon visit too... must have been trying to fill me in on the details of his drama lol!)

So, mister 80's Hair Band will be looking for a new home... hopefully the Asheboro TSC will be holding their Flock Swap this Saturday. >:|

Dutchlion, those Lakenvelders are gorgeous btw!
Hope your "flock of seagulls" finds a good home ;) and i'm glad no one was seriously injured!

and thank you! i can't wait to get some really good photos of them!!

Hi fellow north caroliniers.... :)
I live n trinity (outside of the triad area) I'm looking for a silkie pullet or young hen. I don't show I just want a sweet little pet hen! I'd prefer porcelain, splash or any odd or in useual color. I'd Also like bearded and a nice big top knot! But beggars can't be choosers. If anyone has silkies for sale or knows of breeders around here let me know. Thanks in advance!

I know it not the right time of year to be searching for anything other then chicks but it never hurts to ask!

Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you!:)

Hi Buckbeak,

There is apossibility that I may be selling a few partridge rock and australorp girls who are laying (about 9 months old) but I'm not sure yet. There is a poultry show in Winston on the 28th this month, you might be able to get some there. I'm planning on going so it would be nice to meet you if you go as well :) I just started with chickens this year and got mine from Meyer hatchery. I had a great experience with them, but now that I know a little more about it, I would like to get some from more local breeders... which is why I'm bugging all these people on here! :p What traits are you looking for in your hens?

I've got 50 pullets just starting to lay. I'd part with a few. They are Buff Orpington, along with production blacks and reds. All brown egg layers. Mid-September hatch. I'm further away, though.

Good morning folks

It is egg fever season.....you know.......the time of year that
many folks catch that fever to have hatching eggs and it
happens to fall in the time of year that the lovely hens start
producing up a whole passel of those pretty eggs.

It's also prime flock swap season. Don't be too surprised to find
breeders selling off excess pullets.......I know I will be soon.

hope everyone has a good day
