I found me some new hens (3 of them) the catch.. I had to also take the 2 roosters... Which was fine with me because the neighbors dog got my new Blond rooster!!

I don't know how many I will get yet, I want enough to be able to cull out the roosters and still have enough hens to keep. I haven't raised baby chicks before but my mother in law says she has a book for me that explains everything I need to do. So, I know I can do it just nee to know everything to do.
Good luck

You're a sweetie. No wonder CSB keeps you around!

One class down, but I did end up letting them go fifteen minutes early. 75 minute classes, so not a dreadful loss. Just couldn't talk any more. Had chicken noodle soup for lunch, compliments of Campbells Chunky. Will probably let the rest of the classes go early, just to give me time to recoup between them! Can't wait until today is over. I'm going to go home and talk to my chickens!

@ramirezframing

Tulip laid her first egg since she's been here! It's the lightest colored egg shown here... The second in from the left. So left to right: Luce's egg (Tetra Tint Hen) , Tulip's egg (Lakenvelder Pullet) , Moneypenny's egg (Sebright Hen), and a quarter (for sizing).

Hope everyone is enjoying the rainy thursday!

Well, my incubators are completely full now! I set 29 BLR wyandottes, 31 easter eggers, 6 olive eggers, 11 breda, and 5 silkie mix eggs. The first group should hatch 3/31 and the second a week later. The brooders are set up and ready to go and I ordered another heat plate that should arrive monday. Hooray for chick season!
