@ramirezframing

Tulip laid her first egg since she's been here! It's the lightest colored egg shown here... The second in from the left. So left to right: Luce's egg (Tetra Tint Hen) , Tulip's egg (Lakenvelder Pullet) , Moneypenny's egg (Sebright Hen), and a quarter (for sizing).

Hope everyone is enjoying the rainy thursday!
Yup, lakenvelders are white egg layers. Her egg should get a little bit bigger. She was in a pen of all pullets so if it's fertile it will be pure lakenvelder, if you want to hatch them. Unless you have another rooster who can get to her.

Good morning folks and welcome to the new folks

Sure hope you are feeling better soon Hollow. I think folks who work
in the education system get exposed to colds and flu more often.
Students will come to class while sick, not wanting to miss classwork
and get behind. This seems to create a cycle of exposure and re-exposure.

Good to see things are moving along for you Iceman. Are you planning
a weekend 'come help' party? That could be a way for folks to meet
each other and help get you moved.

Thanks CSB. The cough is less severe today, so that is good. With my students, though, they miss class because of sickness, then show up in my small, enclosed office, to cough and sneeze and SHOW me how sick they are and tell me they didn't come to class so they wouldn't get anyone else sick. I have offended a few by asking obviously sick people to step outside my door and speak to me from the hallway, unless they need privacy. Then we will go somewhere else...not my office!

Obviously, one slipped by me. But in a few days it will all be over. I did my whining yesterday. Now I'm working on getting through it.

I know this may sound a little hokey, but I swear by the vitamin C packets like Emergen-C to prevent or reduce a cold. The CVS or store brand is just as good. I'm in healthcare and prefer to not take meds as much as possible, but I think these work well. Obviously, if you have any health conditions, talk to your PCP first. If I feel a cold coming on (thanks to working in pediatrics, that's not uncommon!), I'll immediately take a few packs a day and it rarely develops into a full blown cold.

In other news, this little guy has decided to camp out in my coop!

I think we managed to peacefully evict him, but both of us were quite surprised to see each other :lol:
