If I was closer, I'd tell you that I'll be hatching Welsummers and Olive Eggers this weekend. Since you're up Raleigh way, you might want to get up with doubleatraining, who has several of the breeds you are looking for.

Hey!oh I am missing the weather in NC... I'm up North visiting family... Snow up here!

If anyone near the triad area has a few welsummer chicks (females) that they are looking to sell... I'm looking for just a couple.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

I assumed it was something like that. Either way, I hope you are back to 100% soon!

Thanks for the suggestion to contact doublea. She and Bhep are the two relatively close to me who have some breeds I am looking for. They are near the triangle whereas I am in the triad. Who came up with these names?!

Dutch, hope you make it back soon, it's so nice today!

Got out in this warm weather to set up a chick/brooding area in my run. I got ten Cornish crosses at the TSC and have been brooding them in the shed. I have a trampoline frame that I've used in the past with chicken wire but this time I got some netting that is supposed to go around it for games. It was about three feet shorter than it was supposed to be though. Instead, I took part of the frame off and put the remaining frame in the corner of my chicken run. In the end, I think it will give the chicks and/or mama hens more room than the trampoline would have. I now have an area of about ten by fifteen for them. Needless to say, I'm pooped. I'm just glad that I had a nice strong son to help me move one of the coops into position on the side. In the past, I've done it all alone. Not easy at all.

Anyway, I think my Silkie is flirting with going broody again and I'm hoping my Cochin is following suit.

I need a gold laced wyandotte rooster...anyone have one?
I do. He's technically a black laced red but he's way too gold to really count as "red". He's looking a little rough right this second because he got into a squabble with one of my other roosters about a week ago. He needs a new home. He is 1 year old. He hatched march 4, 2014. He's easy to get along with and the only rooster from that hatch that I haven't been able to bring myself to cook.
