and just a little suggestion if buying that much food in advance { I usually buy 100lbs. at a time ] might be a good idea to use food grade DE to help keep it fresh. I use big plastic trash cans with good fitting lids then put 3 cups of DE to each 50lb. it helps to keep out bugs and also moisture. ya'll have a good un, we're on our way to pick up the grankids at the Georgia/N.C. line for the week. Hope those that are feeling puny get better quick too.

Good Morning Everyone!! I've been up before the roosters today to get everything ready!! Made some muffins for breakfast while hauling out all of the stuff needed for me to get ready...then the DH hauled out all the tools that we will be using today.

he said to be nice to our "neighbors" we must wait until at least 9am to begin working.

Our nearest neighbors are 1/4 of a mile away...seriously...I don't WANT to wait.

As you can see, I still have NOT learned patience. Well...I will post pictures as they become available!! Have a great day everyone!!

Good Morn'n All!! We have a chick this morning, I believe it is a lavender (cochin that is)!

There are lots more with pips and several trying to make their way out, even have one of the silkies pipped. Come one babies... going to be a busy day back and forth to the hatcher.

Today I have to manage a crazy one... we'll see if we can do this. Hubby is working until 12ish, I'm working 11 to 4. DD has Tee Ball practice at 1 if hubby makes it in time, at 3pm is a bday party for my daughter's friend... so we have to manage tee ball, home, bath, party... I get off and meet them there! All in time to get home by 7pm to get dinner, bath and bed!

Putting on my cape.... here we go! LOL

Coop update: it turned out to be a gorgeous day so far...a bit COLD this morning but the forman was on site early and was ready to whip us into shape!!

. The DH let me use the miter saw to help...I still have all 10 fingers. Not sure how the roof is going to go up as the DH misestimated the top distance so this should be entertaining. I will post pictures tonight...can't post them from my phone...

1 support beam in...13 more to go - and that's just part of the roof...haha. have a great day everyone!!

So, I have been wondering why my eggs production is down!

So, I give the coop a good clean out, only finding 3 girls and the roo outside. I think the 4th is behind their little "sleep house" so I look and no sign. I close the coop door and find her sat behind the door on 21 eggs!

Now I know where to look.............

21 eggs in total............

OMG Gavin!! She has been setting on them? Are you going to let her continue to set? I'm sure some are already developing, looks like your going to have more rock babies!!
